Teachers - High School

Key Roles

I’m excited to be a part of the Cremona School community!

I have always loved teaching, and am lucky to be able to teach the sciences (the best subjects of them all), where we can learn and wonder about how the world around us works!

I have a B.Sc. with a double major in Biology and Physics, as well as a B.Ed in Secondary Education, both from University of Calgary.  In the past I have taught English, Health, Phys Ed and Math in various grades and Science from Grades 6-12.  I am currently teaching high school science and math.

I enjoy almost any type of sporting/outdoor activity, have cycled over  20,000 km in about a dozen countries (including a cross-Canada trip), and will play almost any sport (to varying degress of sucess) when I get the chance.  My wife and I are both avid travelers and love exploring new places, meeting new people, and appreciating new cultures.  We spent 5 years living in Berlin, Germany and teaching at an international school, and that is where we had our two fantastic young children.

We moved back to Canada in 2016 and I started this position in Cremona School in Fall of 2017.

I’m looking forward to the time ahead here in Cremona, and hope for and expect great successes from all the students I get to teach!

The core of my Educational Philosophy:

As an educator, I strive to encourage and equip students to develop and pursue their curiosity in their lives and the world around them.

Each student is unique; therefore I encourage students to recognize, develop and utilize their strengths while also carefully promoting the development of all facets of learning.

I believe that true learning only comes when education is engaging, relevant and diverse.

I strive to be an exemplar of a love for learning and demonstrate that learning exists as a continuous journey, rather than having a singular goal.

May we never stop learning.
