Cremona School Nut Awareness Program

At Cremona School there are several children who have been indentified as having severe allergies to nuts.  For some of these children, any exposure to nuts or nut products is life threatening.  As a Nut Aware school, we would like to remind parents that they should not be sending nuts or nut containing products to school either in lunches or as class treats. If a student should mistakenly bring a nut-containing product in their lunch, they will not be allowed to eat it and will instead be provided with an alternative snack. We will soon be posting signs and notices to remind students and the public of our Nut Awareness program, this notice will appear again in the newsletter and a permanent banner will be added to the school’s website as an additional reminder.

We would also like to remind parents of the importance of ensuring that their children’s medical information forms are accurate and up to date.  For children with severe allergies this means that we need to have a list of the substances that those children are allergic to.  If you, as a parent, are unsure of whether your child’s medical form is up to date, please contact the school for confirmation.

We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all students. If there are any questions or concerns regarding Nut Awareness, please do not hesitate to contact us at the school.
